About ManuElla
The winner of this year’s Slovenian national selection EMA 2016 is ManuElla with her song Blue And Red. Music is MunuElla’s big passion that she lives for. The artist plays different instruments but feels best as a vocalist. The singer is waiting for the opportunity to perform in front of the huge audience in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.
Music was a part of ManuElla’s life from the very childhood: at the age of six, ManuElla already played accordion, and at 13 she had her own band playing bass guitar. But she has always felt best as a vocalist. As a 16-year-old, she performed for the first time on TV and then took part in a German musical talent show Das Supertalent, where she ranked amongst the first one hundred best performers. In 2012, ManuElla took part in Misija Evrovizija, the selection for the Eurovision Song Contest and was placed in the semifinal.
The past two years were difficult for ManuElla. She lost her father, her greatest supporter and fan, due to a serious illness. But she got back on her feet and dedicated herself fully to composing songs. This keeps her uplifted, and fills her with the will to live.She claims everyone must follow their dreams in this short life and follow one's calling.
Therefore, she entered her song for the national selection EMA 2016. The jury has placed her into the superfinal, while the viewers have rewarded her with the majority of votes and actually made her the winner.
